Frequently asked questions
Do you provide training for Swift?
Is it painful for patients?
Pain varies from patient to patient. Patients that report discomfort state that this only lasts 2-3 seconds and dissipates instantly once the treatment is over - leaving only low levels of post-procedural pain*
*as reported during an independent clinical study.
Can you treat children?
There is no lower age limit for Swift treatment, however clinicians are asked to use their clinical judgement. The Swift treatment is available in Paediatric hospitals and clinics in the UK, Europe, and the USA.
What can Swift be used for?
The Swift® applicator is intended to be used with the Swift® generator. Swift® coagulates soft tissue for surface dermal conditions. The Swift® microwave tissue ablation system is for microwave treatments in the fields of Podiatry and Dermatology.
Swift® should only be used by clinicians trained by Emblation or their authorised representatives.
Swift® should be used in a clinical setting including clinics or consultation offices.
Who can use it in my clinic?
Any clinically trained member of staff, who has completed their Swift training, can use Swift.
Are there any consumables?
Yes, the Swift System requires a disposable tip which you must replace every appointment. This removes the need for sterilisation between patients and eliminates the risk of cross-contamination.
What after sales support do you offer?
We have a dedicated customer support team who are on hand to answer any questions you may have or offer advice and support.
Should I administer a local anaesthetic prior to treating a wart with Swift?
The use of local anaesthetic is generally not recommended, as it increases the risk of burning and ulceration due to overtreatment and lack of patient feedback. Instead, we recommend reducing the dosage by 1-2 Watts.
